How does it work?
These cards generally allow you to purchase drugs at rates insurance companies pay for them by negotiating lower prices.  The more people that use a specific card, the more negotiating power a company has.  However, unlike an insurance company, these programs pass the savings directly on to you.  Sometimes, they can be helpful for individuals with insurance as well.
